SALVATION MOUNTAIN
Leonard Knight spent decades building Salvation Mountain out of adobe, straw, and thousands of gallons of donated paint, a hand-made hillside of color rising from the desert near Niland. A monument to one man's faith, and one of the strangest, most generous pieces of folk art in California.
